Doesn’t life move fast? Doesn’t it seem like yesterday you were playing on your elementary school playgrounds with the friends you thought were the most amazing people in the world? From the time of your birth you made your mark on the world. You came out of your mother’s womb crying, learned how to crawl, walk, talk, and run. All in a matter of a few days you grew to become a competent and intelligent child, all the while, not knowing how fast life was moving.
Before long, you were complaining about being too short because you wanted to be the same height as your mom and dad; you were sad because you were too young to have fun with the older crowd. I want to be bigger, I want to be older, I want to be an adult was your immature cry, until one day you looked up to the sky and realized that you had arrived at adulthood. All of the days of wishing to be older have finally come true, you can be you, and do what you want to do, except have fun, run wild, and be free like you were when you were a child.
Every day you’re getting closer to the end point in life; you’re getting closer to the exit; until one day you look around and your children have had children and their climbing on your knees, saying please Grandpa, Grandma come outside to play with me. You look around and think, wow, time has flown by so fast, why am I always out of gas. I’m tired, my breathing is heavy, and I want to take a lot of naps. Your energy is zapped and you realized that your days of youth weren’t so bad and you shouldn’t have been sad about being shorter, smaller, and younger. You should have been thankful for what you had and you should have praised God more and more and more. Life moves fast, you don’t go backwards, you only move forward. Before you know it, it will be time for you to go, so while you’re here, while you’re young, while you are where you are, take it slow. Give God the praise, call upon Jesus name, and be ready to go when He calls your name because life moves fast.
In the world to come, those who are in heaven will be like little children and none will desire to be bigger or older. We will enjoy every moment of youth and life; we will enjoy all our days and appreciate the God that gave them. Are you living ready for your next life?
