Isaiah 49:3-4 “Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God. And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.”
What do you do when those who are supposed to help you actually weigh you down? How do you sever ties with those who bring no value, solutions, or fruit? How do you handle extra baggage?
Sometimes the people connected to you are extremely lazy and they may provide you with zero help. They want your resources, they want to sit at your table, but they make no effort to strengthen you.
Remember that your true help comes from the Lord. Remember you work for God only.
When you are tempted to give up, remember that your labor serves to strengthen your beliefs, hold you accountable, and establish the kingdom of God in the earth. The fruit you receive is an outflow of your personal worship and your value is not determined by how many show up.
You serve an audience of One. Don’t put your mind on the man or woman next to you. Don’t worry about the help someone else brings. Don’t focus on the resources someone else provides. Your labor is a labor of love for the Lord and no one may stand with you. Be the stand-alone, beacon of light. Be the Warrior servant of God (Daniel 12:1)
You are the asset of God. You are the king and priest of God. You are the representative of God. You are the leader for God. You are the oracle of God. You are the minister of God. You are the blessed one of God. Don’t expect anyone else to show up because more than likely they won’t; be surprised if they stick around. Just work for God in secret and in truth.
